Love Unscripted (Love #1) by Tina Reber

Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that accepting a role in an unknown film would toss his career into overdrive. His new fame has cost him dearly; anonymity is no longer an option. His fans stalk him, the paparazzi hound him, and Hollywood studios all want a piece of him. Despite all of that, Ryan Christensen craves the most basic of human needs - to have love in his heart and privacy in his life.
Taryn Mitchell, the story's protagonist, is a realist. She's been feigning contentment, running the family pub in Seaport, Rhode Island, while quietly nursing her own internal heartaches. Her feet are fairly glued to the ground and she doesn't buy into all the hype that has descended on her tiny, coastal town. In her world, men are safe if they're kept at a distance.
Fate has other plans for these two when their paths cross one sunny afternoon. A group of female fans has attacked him, leaving his shirt torn, his face cut, and Ryan in obvious distress. Bonds between them form from the most dramatic of circumstances while jealousy, insecurity, and the stress of his celebrity life try to tear them apart.
Through all the tabloid lies, secrecy, and pressure, can Taryn's peace and Ryan's high-profile insanity live together in harmony?

These are my confessions…Recognize that line? It’s Usher peeps, keep up. Why am I quoting Usher you ask, well read the line again…now do you get it? Yup that’s right it’s time for another GeektasticAlii confession, which if you haven’t guessed by now is that ‘Love Unscripted’ is yet another book I ignored (yes I know!). Allow me to explain myself, last year I suffered from what is known as ‘Stupid Syndrome’, it was rather serious guys. Anyways obviously now I’m cured, but back then I ignored this fantabulous book because I was under the impression it was not my cup of tea, you see up until that point I had never read a ‘Celeb Romance’ so obviously I was a just a little *holds thumb and forefinger apart* judgmental when it came to broadening my horizons, book wise of course. I was proved wrong obviously, I mean it kept popping up like ALL the time, not to mention its reviews were pretty good so I caved and gave it a go…BOUGHT IT AFTER READING THE FIRST PAGE!

Love Unscripted is about two souls meeting purely by chance, and under less than great circumstances. Becoming the closest of friends, until the attraction is just too much to ignore. Gawd seriously this was such a refreshing read! It was not a ‘lust at first sight’ romance, not that there wasn’t lust cause well there was, but it was so nice to come across something different for once. I appreciated coming across characters who were REAL, who went through realistic struggles and emotions you couldn’t help falling in love. The chemistry between Taryn and Ryan was H.O.T. and in all honesty you will be cheering them on right from the start, yes they like each other but unlike most romance novels they don’t jump in head first they take it slow, and not a frustrating kind of slow, an incredibly realistic and cute kinda slow my friends. Taryn is the ultimate heroine, she’s so down to earth, she doesn’t take shit from anyone and is not easily impressed, including by the oh so hotness of the great Ryan Christensen. I mean I don’t know about you, but I cannot stand girls who are all like creepy ga-ga over a guy, going on about his hotness, greatness and why they don’t deserve him. Give it a rest chicks. It’s embarrassing. ‘nough said.

Taryn’s friends are. The. Shit. I wish I could meet them, no lie guys they are funny as hell! They are the coolest friends anyone could ask for. For example:
“I’ll tell you what it is - all women love dangerous bad boys and that’s what the movie is about,” Tammy stated. “Yeah, I guess there’s something sexy about some guy who wants to kill you,” Ryan muttered. I gathered that was not the first time he said those words out loud just by his body language. “Hey Marie, get me another beer or I’ll kill you,” Gary muttered. Marie smacked him hard in the arm. “What? I’m just trying to be sexy for you!” he pointed out, pushing his glasses back up his nose.
More you say…
Pete broke the silence first. “You know what I could eat right now?” he asked out loud as he was stacking his chips. “Pussy?” Gary answered immediately. “Gary!” Marie yelped and smacked him in the arm. Ryan was taking a sip from his glass; he just about spit his beer all over himself, breaking out in a laugh. “What?” Gary flinched away from Marie. “He asked, I just answered. Sounds like a perfectly good thing to eat right now, right guys?”

Now Ryan, oh my Ryan! *fans self* Ryan is such a great hero he’s in my top 5 BBFs (Book Boyfriends, jheez keep up). He is funny, cute, charming, sensitive and just sex on legs really. Although he’s an actor he is in no way egotistical or conceited, I cannot stand guys like that, it was refreshing to come across an actor who is really struggling with the fame and to come across another side of Hollywood, it’s not all glitz and glamour. He is definitely not the hot, famous, millionaire actor I was expecting, Ryan is such a huge juxtaposition to that stereotype it’s not even funny. He is just so precious and his insecurities make you wanna give him a big old cuddle. I fell for him right from the start, usually I need to get to know a character a bit more, but Tina delivers Ryan so beautifully it was love at first read.
“I don't want anyone else - just you. And no matter where I am, wherever I go, you're the only one who is holding my heart."
*N'awwwh*

I give this book 5 fat stars. There is never a dull moment and this book is amazing on so many levels , the plot, the characters, the conflict, the freaking humour, the writing style, the ending. Take your pick.  I enjoyed every second of this book, and honestly I wouldn’t change a thing. Most people have complained it is WAY too long, I’m not gonna lie it is, it’s like 600 something pages. Woah there! Before you write it off, listen to me, I think it needed to be that long, because everything happened at a pace that was believable and so the length of the book was necessary to keep that up. In addition to that I finished it in one sitting, I could not put it down because seriously guys Tina delivers an amazing romance that’s like nothing you’ve read before. I mean I could see everything playing out like a movie right in front of me, I love it when authors have the power to drag you into their stories so completely that you actually feel like you’re there. You will love it and not be disappointed! BUY NOW!
